Mariam Bibi is excited to share her latest work
In My Heels - a Memoir of Love, Loss and the Will to Keep Going
It is the story of Fatima Waja, a fiesty businesswoman born in the North West Province of South Africa during the height of apartheid. The narrated memoir charts Fatima's peaks and plateaus from a childhood spent largely in hospitals and wheelchairs as a result of septic arthritis contracted in infancy, to an unlikely marriage to her soulmate, challenging business career in a male dominated tech industry and recent widowhood at the age of 45 in the shadow of the COVID 19 pandemic.
It is a book about one woman whose fears and aspirations as a mother, lover and fighter resonate with women everywhere.
The project might have been a lengthy one, but this was one story that really needed to be told.
